Spotify it’s obvious… you’re coming to Belgium.

Newspapers like “De Standaard” and “De Tijd” previously reported that Spotify wasn’t going to be launched in Belgium for the time being. That could however change very soon. If you look up belgian artists on the spotify platform then I have to say that you get overwhelmed by the quantity of belgian artists that are already featured on the platform.
You could however argue that these artists could’ve been added for the dutch market rather than the belgian one. But when you start to find artists that are rather obscure to our dutch neighbours then I have to say that it is fairly clear that a spotify release on the belgian market is impending.
I, for starters can’t wait until Spotify hits the belgian market.

For those who are unfortunate not to have tried Spotify, here’s a how-to to try it in a not by spotify ‘license-cleared’ country.
Tutorial: Making a spotify account via proxy
1) go to http://ukipaddress.co.uk/
This website is a proxy that allows you to register an account with Spotify. It makes it seem like you’re in the UK. You only have to use the site to make it look like you’re in the UK. It will allow you to register an account. You do need to enter an UK Postal code in order to be able to register. By default I always use the following one “B1 1JG”. If you’re familiar with any other postal code from the United Kingdom, please do use them.
2) After registering your account you can easily download the software to your computer and install it.
Windows: Click here
Mac OSX: Click here
3) After installing the software you can use your login details to log in to Spotify.
4) Congratulations, you have successfully registered to Spotify outside of the ‘allowed’ countries. Do take note that this will only work for a good 2 weeks. After that period of time spotify will detect that you’re outside of the UK. If you do not mind to make a new account every single time then you can keep on registering accounts. Free accounts do have the ‘negative’ advertisements that pop up every 5-6 songs by average, depending on the length of the tracks you listen to.
I hope you’ll put this to good use, and that you do this because you love music as much as me.
